The right way to make Moroccan Tagine with meat or chicken

One of the most famous Moroccan Dishes, that is the Moroccan Tagine, which is a mix of vegetables, meat and spices cooked inside of a special dish with the same name "Tagine", that doesn't only help preserving the nutritional value of the ingrediants but also gives it a very delecious taste and look. The Moroccan Tagine actually goes back to handreds of years even before the Arabian existence in north Africa, it was in fact invented by the Amazigh people the original people of north Africa. So let's dive into the making of this wonderfully delecious dish.


Ingredients :

1 Kg of chopped meat
1 sliced onion
2 tomatoes
2 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
5 tablespoons of olive oil (optional)
200g of carrots
100g of peas
2 potatoes
1 cup of chopped coriander
1 teaspon of ground ginger
1 teaspoon of saffron
Salt 
And a Tagine

Instructions :

  • wash the meat with cold water to make sure there's no blood left on it.
  • wash the vegetables then slice them, carrots into small cubes and potatoes into round peaces the same thing with tomatoes round pieces.
  • put the Tagine on medium heat, then put the meat with a bit of salt, after that add 3 cups of water let it cook for about 15 minutes before adding the vegetables and spices, let it cook for around 2 hours.
  • better to be served as it is inside the Tagine.

Ps : you can use chicken instead of meat if you do so replace the peas with olives.
